Position Summary:
Position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day work activities of the Association's Member Engagement function. Under project supervision, position recruits and retains Association members through direct contact and sales initiatives within assigned target segment(s). Position also interacts with senior executives of Association member-companies to develop, strengthen, and build personal relationships to maximize the value of their Association membership and engagement. Position is an individual contributor role.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary staff liaison and oversees MBA's portfolio of residential member companies. Builds relationships with key leaders of these companies, identifying opportunities for the Association to better understand and support their business efforts.
- Plans, executes and facilitates company-specific strategic engagement for companies in the portfolio; including member site visits, webinars, in-person meetings at industry events, and ensures completion on any identified MBA action items that result from these interactions.
- Generates prospect and member leads through outreach for program and product integration including but not limited to education, research, conferences and other strategic partnerships of the Association. Maintains prospect and member lead information in association database and provides status reports through pipeline management.
- Collaborates with Vice President to coordinate member relations outreach plan and recruitment appointments for MBA prospective members at varying dues level and segments of membership.
- Prepares a variety of status reports including activity, closings, follow-up and adherence to goals. In addition, participates in regular, individual and team meetings.
- Works with the various MBA committees and groups to ensure integration of participation with membership companies.
- Collaborates with other Association staff and departments to track and analyze membership activity and to provide input on ways to improve. Works together to develop and implement strategies to educate key member company leaders and appropriate staff on the relevancy and value of MBA's resources, including educational products, research, conferences, DE&I, Affordable Housing, etc. Ensures continuous awareness of our offerings.
Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor's degree with emphasis on business, marketing, legal, communications, government or other job-related discipline plus a minimum of seven years of prior relevant direct sales experience preferably in a trade association environment with knowledge of the mortgage finance industry.
