Job Description
The University of New Hampshire's Veterinary Technology Program is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty Member to join our team. This position is ideal for experienced professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of veterinary technicians.
Position Overview:
As an Adjunct Faculty Member teaching VTEC 580: Small Animal Practicum II (a 2-credit course), you will be responsible for instructing students in practical skills in our on-campus wellness clinic and at off-campus shelter locations. This course will run during the spring semester on Monday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 5:00pm, focusing primarily on small animals. You will play a key role in developing students' competencies in veterinary practices through direct supervision and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach hands-on skills in the wellness clinic and off-campus shelter settings.
  • Assess and provide feedback on student performance in practical applications.
  • Collaborate with faculty to ensure alignment with program objectives.
  • Mentor students in developing their technical skills and professional attitudes.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in veterinary technology awarded by an AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) CVTEA (Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities) accredited program.
  • Current certification or licensure as a credentialed veterinary technician.
  • Experience in a clinical or shelter environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; teaching experience is a plus.
