Position Overview
Primary Purpose of Position |
The primary objective of the Medical Director/University Physician position is to provide primary health care to the students within the University community, to manage the function of the clinic, and to provide supervision to physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing supervisor and the lab director in accordance with their licensure requirements. This includes diagnosis and treatment of a broad scope of medical illnesses, recognition and referral of psychological concerns and participation in health promotion and disease prevention education. |
Primary Function of Organizational Unit |
This position functions as a University Physician for Student Health Services. Position requires active participation in QI meetings, staff meetings, quality review meetings and other operational committees. This is a fulltime 12-month position. |
Minimum Requirements |
- Completion of residency in family medicine, internal medicine, or related specialty
- Licensed to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina with a current DEA and NPI number
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in outpatient medicine
- 3-5 year of experience collaborating with advanced practice providers and able to provide a reference
- Candidate should have no unresolved medical malpractice claims

- Experience supervising laboratory, x-ray, and health information management.
