Job Title: Operations Engineer

Location(s): Jersey City, NJ

• 5+ years of solid Devops experienceSetup and maintain application API Gateway.
• Troubleshoot routing mechanism in API gateway.
• Know how to route traffic for SOAP/REST calls.
• Tweak timeout settings and throttling parameters for incoming traffic.
• Works on tasks like install, configure and implementing application monitoring, setup dashboards, alerts and logging strategies using tools like AppD, Nagios, Grafana, NSG, wily, Splunk and Cloud monitoring suite.
• Logging - kibana indexes, troubleshoot missing logs, fine tune logging size, optimization of logstash size, thorough working knowledge of elastic search, kibana and logstash, create visualizations in the dashboard, alerts
• Works on troubleshooting application integration issues with Dev, QA, or other Dev Ops teams and incident Management team to drive issues towards closure.
• Should have implemented DevOps practices/tools in areas such as continuous integration, environment automation, release automation, virtualization and metrics tracking.
• Hands on experience with administering Windows, Linux and Cloud systems.
• Experience to build, maintain and support self-service VM provisioning systems like SteelCoud/Elastic Cloud.
• Should have directly worked on creating enterprise level cloud platforms like infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), AWS, Cloud Foundry (PaaS).
• Understanding of serverless applications.
• Excellent knowledge of these scripting languages like Unix shell/Groovy/PowerShell/Perl/CLI.
• Configuration & Integration level skills in GIT/Sonar/Artifactory/Docker.
• Have basic understating of database instances, stored procedures, job scheduling, manage log space
• Understanding of various security mechanisms used in web services like oauth concept, Https, Websec, authentication.
• Knowledge of Java, Restful/SOAP web services, spring boot and XML/JSON.
• Understand the configuration parameters of applications and fine tune them as needed.

• Server Administration / Systems Engineer / Network Engineer.
• Hands on experience with administering Linux servers.
• Support regular OS patching, resolve security vulnerabilities.
• Understands how to troubleshoot transaction failures/error rate/higher response time within an application environment and identify the root cause; i.e Network issues, Routing Issues, GSLB, SAN, database. Understanding of various network zones, internal/external traffic.
• Thorough knowledge of various topologies of LB.
• Thorough working knowledge of identifying network latencies between systems, traceroute, curl, netstat, ping etc.
• Possesses a solid understanding of modern web application architecture, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS and security topologies.
• Album configuration - enable/disable DC, route incoming traffic based on filters.
• Works on tasks like install, configure and implementing application monitoring, setup dashboards, alerts and logging strategies using tools like AppD, Nagios, Grafana, Splunk and Kibana.
• Experience working on troubleshooting infrastructure issues with Linux, network and any other Dev Ops teams and incident Management teams to drive issues towards closure.
• Exposure to self-service VM provisioning systems like SteelCoud/Elastic Cloud.
• Understanding of serverless applications.
• Must have excellent hands on experience in any of the scripting languages like Unix shell/Groovy/Perl/Python.
• Configuration & Integration level skills in GIT/Docker.
• Have basic understating of database instances, job scheduling, schema change, manage log space etc
• Document infrastructure and design decisions along with being able to explain those decisions both to business and tech owners.
• Willingness to learn and/or build new tools when needed.
• Rebuild the systems if needed along with all the software stack and ensure the functionalities are working as before.
