DAS Project Lead

The DAS Project Lead (Install, Service, or Systems Technician) is primarily responsible for the installation and maintenance of DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting iBwave blueprints and product specifications
  • Installation of passive DAS equipment
  • Installation, provisioning, routing, troubleshooting and maintenance of passive and active equipment
  • Termination of horizontal, heliax cabling including cross-connects and interconnects between building cables on small and large campus systems
  • Termination of N style connectors in addition to 4.3-10 compression connectors
  • Fiber optic cable termination and testing with power meter
  • Utilize Anritsu test results to troubleshoot DAS systems
  • Knowledgeable and able to pull and install heliax (including understanding the appropriate bend radius, flat spots or dented cable)
  • Jobsite coordination with other trades, contractors, internal and external customers
  • Lead specialized DAS crew on project implementation
  • Track hours, materials, documentation and change orders for the project
  • Collaborate with PM to pre plan jobsite activities, tools and equipment
  • Plan project deployment
  • Knowledgeable in PIM testing procedures
  • Assembly and commissioning of equipment
  • Set-up and conduct signal surveys with PC-Tel equipment

Education/Skills/Experience
Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • 4+ years RF field experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills - verbal, written and listening
  • Confident engaging with customers during any stage of the project
  • Project leadership and organization to manage entire project scope
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans
  • Ability to lead in a team environment with demonstrated positive attitude
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance
  • Commute to various job sites
  • Ability to travel out-of-town with 1 weeks' notice for an extended period (one to two weeks at a time)

Preferred:

  • Anritsu training and experience
  • PC-Tel training and experience
  • PIM test training and experience
  • Fluke training and experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Bend, lift and carry equipment on a regular basis
  • Bend, lift, twist, turn, and crawl into tight spaces to install devices and equipment
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required
  • Ability to frequently climb up/down ladder (minimum 6') and perform extended overhead cabling/wiring from ladder
  • Ability to grip, push, pull feed cable vertically into closets, horizontally in cable trays and between walls, ceilings and floors
  • Ability to drive to job sites, to frequently get in/out of vehicle and to load/unload tools and material supplies
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to travel out of state, airline travel required
