Research Data Analyst MED-ZSFG-HOSP Full Time 82519BR Job Summary The Research Data Analyst will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the Project Manager to adapt, pilot and demonstrate the feasibility of evidenced-based guaranteed income (GI) interventions. The Silicon Valley Guaranteed Income Project (SVGIP) is a mixed-methods randomized controlled trial (RCT) to assess the effectiveness of guaranteed income on improving housing stability among 300 families with children in Santa Clara County experiencing homelessness. This RCT is informed by community-engaged research design in partnership with key public and non-profit community organizations. It is informed by an equity and justice implementation lens to focus on key priority populations including women-led, Black, and Latinx households at disproportionately higher risk for homelessness. The Analyst will be primarily responsible carrying out participant interviews both in-person and remotely, and in English and Spanish. They will also help support participant retention and disbursement of participant incentives. They will support other aspects of project administration with oversight from the project manager and senior analysts. The work performed by the Analyst will contribute to the intellectual products disseminated by the Principal Investigators on the topics of GI and housing stability of families at risk for homelessness in Santa Clara County. The analyst may work on other studies based on project needs and the analyst's workload. The analyst will, under the direction of a Project Manager, engage in activities including: Conduct structured interviews in English and/or Spanish (remotely and in-person) Manage data through REDCAP and similar data capture instruments. Contribute to data analysis and interpretation Distil complex data into summaries Work with project team to support ongoing grant progress reports to foundation and federal funders, new grant applications and IRB applications Perform in-depth semi-structured interviews, either one-on-one or in focus groups Keep study databases updated Call participants and send reminders (letters, text messaging) to optimize participant retention Communicate and work with community partners to optimize participant retention Management of study participant incentive payments Assist in gathering, synthesizing, and developing evidence-based presentations for various audiences, including non-academic audiences Maintaining files for ongoing projects of the investigator Managing research meetings, including scheduling, taking notes, distributing minutes, following up on deliverables, etc. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $67,000 - $94,200 (Annual Rate). The Division is home to the Hospital Outcomes and Policy Evaluation (HOPE) Lab, which aims to be a research hub for data-driven innovation, health equity and clinical impact. The Silicon Valley Guaranteed Income Project is part of the HOPE Lab's research portfolio and is being conducted in collaboration with the Benioff Homelessness and Housing Initiative based with the UCSF Action Research Center for Equity. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training Fluency in Spanish 1+ years of work experience in a related field such health equity, social justice, participatory research, community-based research, etc. Working knowledge of research function. Problem solving, analytical and consulting skills Strong skills to communicate complex information with all levels of staff and faculty in a clear and concise manner verbally, in writing, software Ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns. Demonstrated knowledge of survey instruments such as REDCap and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Demonstrated skills in conducting literature searches of both peer reviewed and grey literature Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality.
