The Tournament Services Intern for the Truist Championship is responsible for assisting and supporting the Senior Manager of Tournament Services and the Tournament Services Specialist in all aspects of tournament execution and activation, including, but not limited to, client experience, sponsorship activation, special event management, player and caddie experience and volunteer oversight.

BACKGROUND
The Truist Championship is one of eight PGA TOUR Signature Events featuring one of the most premier fields in golf. The Championship will take place May 5 - 11, 2025, at The Philadelphia Cricket Club's Wissahickon Course in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Truist Championship is owned and operated by the PGA TOUR.

EMPLOYMENT DATES & HOURS

Employment Dates*: Monday, February 24, 2025 - Friday, May 23, 2025

Hours Expectation:

  • 40 hours per week, unless otherwise stated
  • Significant overtime expected during the following timeframes:
    • Monday, March 31 - Sunday, April 6
    • Monday, April 28 - Sunday, May 11

*Applicants are expected to work out of the Truist Championship tournament office for the duration of the internship. Applicants are responsible for their own lodging, transportation and food during employment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Senior Manager of Tournament Services and Tournament Services Specialist to coordinate and manage all aspects of a professional golf tournament
  • Assist with special event logistics and execution, including Corporate Hospitality Day, Media Day, Operation Shower, Pro-Am and Am-Am
  • Manage tournament hospitality website and assist with client communication, tracking and fulfillment
  • Responsible for execution of Honorary Observer Program, including management of apparel inventory and guest communication
  • Oversee inventory and placement of tournament linens and frames
  • Assist with volunteer program, including volunteer uniform distribution & training sessions
  • Responsible for oversight and management of client gifting and deliveries
  • Assist with PGA TOUR Childcare program execution
  • Assist with general administrative work and other Tournament Services related duties as assigned (i.e. answering phones, purchasing, billing, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) with a major in Sports Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or another related field

OR

  • Graduating senior or graduate student in an accredited four-year college or university with availability to work in-person, full-time for the duration of the internship

OR

  • Currently possess a bachelor's degree

Experience: Prior experience with athletics administration, communication or event management is preferred

Skill Set Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and computer skills are crucial
  • Must take initiative, operate proactively and think independently in project management and problem solving
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually
  • Capacity to work on several projects simultaneously and maintain exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-disciplined with schedule and time management
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift/move weighted boxes

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
