Responsibilities

This position can be based out of any of our major office locations in the Northeast.

Working closely with the business leaders, responsible for all day-to-day and strategic financial activities including business planning and budgeting, sales tracking/reporting, financial forecasting, management and financial reporting, balance sheet optimization, investment case and decision support, accounting, and control infrastructure. Also responsible for understanding key business drivers, developing operational and strategic plans, and delivering insightful analysis to the business.

Essential Duties:

  • Provide monthly/quarterly reporting of business unit financial statements and non-financial metrics to business unit leaders and senior management. Include relevant advisory, planning, analysis, reporting, and monitoring produced in a controlled and timely process.
  • Planning and forecasting of business unit results and development of both operational and strategic plans. Produce meaningful and timely business operating segment reports, assessing performance and directing profitability strategies.
  • Lead development and implementation of business unit performance measures. Assess and enhance processes that drive accountability measurements within the business.
  • Provide financial information for decision making support including cost management and revenue enhancement. In addition, support business competitive intelligence analysis and strategic benchmarking.
  • Interface with the leadership team in the development and implementation of business unit strategies. Review and prioritize business unit and financial initiatives. Provide financial leadership, advice, processes, and tools.
  • Create and distribute sales tracking methodologies for each commercial vertical
  • Ensure strong accounting and internal controls environment.
  • Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position. Ensure ongoing adherence to pertinent policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all job-specific training requirements in a timely fashion.

Ancillary Duties:

As an integral member of the Commercial Banking Department, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the Commercial Banking Department and the Bank in achieving their annual goals.


Qualifications

Education, Training and Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a BA or BS from an accredited four-year institution.
  • An MBA is preferred.
  • All applicants must be 18 years of age or older

Skills:

  • A strong track record of driving business performance, the successful candidate will have broad and deep functional expertise in business financial decision support, reporting, performance monitoring, and/or accounting. Strong financial acumen and P&L management skills. Demonstrated ability to partner with business leaders and translate their needs into actionable, practical initiatives; can define expectations and key success factors and metrics in business terms. Strong executive presence with ability to influence senior leadership. Excellent communication (oral/written) and presentation skills. Experience managing complex projects with short delivery dates and cross-divisional teams. Proven experience in leading major change initiatives in the face of challenging internal and external pressures. Experience building, developing, motivating, and mentoring teams. Strong knowledge of financial systems, processes, and controls. Comfortable acting in a regulated environment.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in Financial Services / Banking industry
