Afterschool Educator Requisition ID: 2024-8633 # of Openings: 5 Location: US-UT Category: Teaching (non-Faculty) Position Type: Non-benefited (hourly) Part-Time Job Classification: Non-Benefited College: College of Agriculture & Applied Sc Department: Extension Home & Community Advertised Salary: $12.00 per Hour Overview Afterschool Educators will oversee the daily activities associated with the afterschool program, will work closely with the afterschool coordinator and school administrators to ensure that youth are engaging in positive youth development activities. This position will be at multiple locations. Responsibilities Facilitate daily afterschool activities in cooperation with afterschool Staff, USU Faculty, and school administrators Assist in the collection of evaluation forms, keep daily attendance records, complete program activity summaries Facilitate the implementation of quarterly 4-H Family Fun Nights Assist afterschool staff in other duties as assigned Attend mandatory staff and professional development meetings Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must be available to work during after school hours, between 2:00pm-5:30pm, as well as, at least one evening each quarter for 4-H Family STEM Night activities Must be able to work effectively with afterschool staff, USU Faculty, youth, families, and school administrators Must be able to take direction from afterschool Staff Must have reliable transportation to and from afterschool activities and meetings at the County Extension Office Must complete professional development trainings in a timely manner Preferred Qualifications: Past experience with the 4-H program is preferred Experience working with youth, families, and school administrators Spanish speaking and writing is preferred Required Documents Along with the online application, please attach: 1. Advertised Salary $12.00 per Hour ADA The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing). Outdoors, incumbents may not be protected from weather conditions and may be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold. Additionally, indoor or outdoor work environments may include being confined or in narrow spaces for periods of time. The incumbent may also be exposed to loud noises or vibrations from equipment, and conditions that may affect the respiratory system, such as fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation. Bending, crawling, and crouching may be required. Incumbents may be required to lift, push, and/or pull objects up to 50 pounds and be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
