Your Role
Are you ready to join a dynamic team where your expertise in instrument, electrical, and control systems can make a significant impact? We are looking for an Aftermarket Applications Engineer to provide innovative solutions for equipment upgrades, enhancing efficiency, integrating state-of-the-art features, and replacing obsolete components.
As part of the Aftermarket team, you will report to the Application Engineering Leader and work closely with the Engineered Solutions team. This is a hybrid position located in Voorheesville, NY.
As an Aftermarket Application Engineer:
- You will work with Aftermarket Sales to review customer requests and provide accurate, timely proposals with a well-defined scope of supply.
- You will collaborate with internal and external vendors to develop precise material and labor budgets.
- You will utilize SAP ERP, Enovia PLM, and other internal software tools.
- You will interact with the control systems upgrade team to ensure all changes are reflected in proposals and executed upgrades.
- You will discuss customer needs and review proposals with customers and sales.
- You will communicate technical and commercial aspects of orders to the project team and other departments.
- You will maintain organized, accessible project records in line with Atlas Copco procedures.
- You will track the status of proposals and "hot" projects, assisting sales in closing orders.
- You will participate in special projects and the development and implementation of new upgrade ideas.
To succeed, you will need
- You hold a Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Design, or Electrical Controls & Maintenance, or have equivalent work experience.
- You understand PLCs and associated components, electrical enclosures, electrical components, and electrical instruments.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate with customers, suppliers, and intracompany departments.
- You are organized and can manage your time to handle multiple projects to meet delivery schedules.
- You can interpret process and instrumentation diagrams and engineering drawings.
- You can travel when needed, expected travel is ~5%.
