Position: Japanese Bilingual Senior Freight Forwarding / Logistics Specialist
Location: Torrance, CA
Working Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm (1 hour lunch)
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-time
Report to: Assistant Manager
Job Summary:
As a Senior Freight Forwarding Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of freight forwarding operations.
You will be responsible for a wide range of clerical duties, including data entry, document processing, and customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Data Entry: Accurately input and update shipment data into our freight forwarding system.
* Document Processing: Prepare and process a variety of shipping documents, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
* Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and tracking shipments.
* File Management: Maintain organized physical and digital files.
* Report Generation: Generate reports on shipping activity, performance metrics, and other relevant information.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs regulations and transportation laws.
* Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals.
* Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to shipping, customs, and logistics.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics coordination.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Knowledge of customs regulations and international shipping procedures.
* Experience with freight forwarding software.
* Bilingual skills (English and Japanese).

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
