Position Summary

The faculty & staff of the University of New Mexico College of Nursing welcome you to a tradition of excellence in research, education and clinical practice. We represent the very best in quality & innovation within an academic environment. Our focus is on building robust programs of research.

We are currently recruiting an Associate Professor or Professor with tenure faculty member with a strong track record of research, publication and extramural funding.

The incoming faculty will teach and maintain an active program of research. The combination of teaching and scholarly productivity is a fundamental component of a research at an R1 University. Responsibilities include research, teaching, mentoring and advising students, and participation in program activities and committees to ensure stated program goals are achieved.

This position may also participate in service projects with internal and external community partners that share the college's mission. The College welcomes applicants interested in working with community partners and inter-professional health care and academic partners.

The University of New Mexico College of Nursing, located in Albuquerque, NM, ranks in the top 15% of nursing programs in the country. With over 1,000 enrolled students, the college offers pre- and post-licensure baccalaureate, master's, post-master's, and doctoral programs. Program offerings include the state's premiere Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs; master's and post-master's programs across seven concentrations for APRNs, nurse educators, and nurse administrators; and the New Mexico Nurse Education Consortium baccalaureate curriculum.

The HS has an established NIH-funded Clinical & Translational Science Center that provides extensive opportunities and resources to support collaborative research in a variety of topic areas. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Research Doctorate (PhD)

* Must be tenurable at the Associate or Full-Professor level

* Established program of research with a record of external funding in one of our pillars of Research and Scholarship

* Record of data-based, peer reviewed publications related to program of research consistent with our Tenure and promotion criteria

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience mentoring graduate students in dissertations and grant opportunities
  • Demonstrated success in sustainable research along with history of working in a multidisciplinary and interdepartmental program of research
  • Current extramural research funding
  • Lab based science
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities
