Position Summary:

Join the Vallen team as the Manager, Product Data Enrichment. This role will be reporting to the Senior Manager of Master Data Management as part of Vallen's EDGE program, the Manager of Product Data Enrichment leads a team of specialists responsible for the enrichment and publication of Vallen's product data.

Utilizing the Stibo STEP platform, the Product Data Enrichment team is responsible for Vallen's global product assortment, various product hierarchies, extended attribution, and supporting digital asset management including images and documentation. They work directly with vendors and third-party resources to enrich and maintain the data supporting Vallen's extensive product assortment. They are also responsible for publication of this enrichment data to various sales avenues including eCommerce, marketing publications, and third-party applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads a group of two to five specialists, guiding the team's personal development while driving Vallen's product enrichment.
  • Establishes processes that streamline the acquisition and standardization of supplier-sourced product content.
  • Develops audit processes and minimum standards for publication and distribution of product data.
  • Establishes and maintains Vallen's digital asset management strategy including product images and supporting documentation.
  • Leads cross-collaboration projects with other departments for specific enrichment initiatives such as compliance, logistics, or purchasing.
  • Enhances available product attribution and taxonomies.
  • Partners with Category Management team to foster productive relationships with suppliers.
  • Coordinates processes for the publication of product information to catalogs, flyers, eCommerce, or other destinations.
  • Supports data maintenance, governance, and product lifecycle management processes alongside product creation team.

Job Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant experience within an industrial, MRO, safety, or other B2B distributor.
  • 3+ years managing or leading a team with proven experience guiding personal development.
  • 2+ years' experience with a leading Master Data Management software application, preferably Stibo STEP.
  • Demonstrated experience improving business processes
  • Innate drive to working with data
  • Demonstrated experience of driving for results and continuous improvement.
  • Proven experience working across business functions and units (i.e. Product Management, Product Information, Marketing, Sales, etc.) including remote associates and international third-party teams
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including expertise with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
    • Nice to-haves:
      • Undergraduate degree
      • Knowledge of Data Governance, Data Quality, and/or Master Data Management best practices.
      • Experience with Javascript, Java, and/or SQL.
      • Experience with Azure DevOps and Agile development.
      • Experience in Change Management or Project Management
