Job Summary *** This is a short-term position with a projected end date of June 30, 2025 with renewal contingent on funding source. The Property and Materials Specialist Supervisor ensures integrity, quality control, and stewardship over MCCCD property. The position supervises operational services for receiving, tagging, inventory, and transfer/disposal of goods and equipment. The supervisor trains and mentors Receiving staff at Pecos and Williams campuses. Essential Functions 30% - Provides scheduling and quality control activities over the biennial inventory; organizes and maintains records of tagged assets; performs inventory of tagged assets; adheres to and ensures compliance with capital asset policies and regulations; develops and implements property control operating practices and work standards. 30% - Supervises property receiving and accounting processes; supervises the work of contracted Receivers providing operational support; verifies property acquisitions; utilizes specialized equipment, such as golf cart, stake bed truck, forklift, scissor lift, equipment moving dollies, etc. Serves as liaison with college staff and freight shippers. 30% - Coordinates and performs operational services related to the transfer and disposition of materials and equipment; serves as liaison with college Administrative Services staff, District Capital Asset Accounting, and District Surplus; processes property control transfer, reinstatement, donation, and disposal documents. 10% - Identifies training needs and provides staff training and mentoring; ensures adherence to workplace safety policies, procedures and practices Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and four years of property and materials coordination experience in a copy center, mailroom, receiving or surplus property operation and two years of lead or senior level work experience. There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED. Desired Qualifications 1. Three [3] years of experience with receiving, inventory, and/or surplus operations in higher education, non-profit, or governmental environment 2. Ability to operate a stake bed truck 3. Forklift certification 4. Experience using web-based financial software systems, such as PeopleSoft ERP (Financial Management System), including receiving and asset modules 5. Experience presenting to and/or training others on property control policies and procedures 6. Demonstrated proficiency using technology to streamline processes (including Microsoft, Adobe, and/or Google suite applications) 7. Two [2] years of experience providing customer service. Special Working Conditions This is a short-term position with a projected end date of June 30, 2025 with renewal contingent on funding source. Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://www.maricopa.edu/legal/rmi/vehicle.htm#requirements May be required to work at multiple sites or locations. May be required to lift or carry up to 50 lbs. Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment.
