Position Summary:
The New Jersey Institute of Technology is searching for a Post Doctoral Research Associate to join the Department of Mathematical Sciences. The focus of the work will be on ocean acoustics, signal processing, and inverse problems. The appointment's duration is 12 months with a potential extension. Start date is January 15, 2025. Essential Functions:
Conduct research in sound propagation in the ocean, inverse problems, statistical signal processing, and uncertainty quantification.
Additional Functions:
Supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Ocean Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position. Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate is expected to have experience with models for sound propagation in the ocean, inverse problems, statistical signal processing, uncertainty quantification, and scientific computing.
