Job Summary

The Loudoun County Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is currently in search of qualified candidates for the full-time position of Cafe Supervisor at the Senior Center at Cascades. This role involves evaluating the requirements of senior citizens, overseeing food and snack provisions, managing food handling operations, and coordinating the health department inspection process. Additionally, it includes the collection of program fees, the weekly and monthly reporting of data, supervision of designated staff and volunteers in meal service and delivery, as well as the planning and organization of food for special events.
We are currently hiring for the following location(s): * Senior Center at Cascades, Sterling, VA
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Supervises and offers assistance for various programs and events hosted by the Senior Center. * Manages compliance with standards related to safe food handling, food preparation, and cleanliness; ensures that food is stored, shipped, and served at appropriate temperatures. * Manages, delivers, and oversees client meal services. * Organizes the delivery of meals through the assistance of volunteers. * Operates passenger vehicle. * Other essential duties related to the specific role and department assignment may also be performed.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of related work experience planning programs for senior adults or other special needs populations (prefer one-year program experience including supervisory experience in some capacity); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo pre-employment criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required, with driving records subject to annual review to ensure ongoing eligibility. Commercial Driver's License (CDL with Passenger endorsement) within 90 days of hire. Successful candidates holding a CDL must pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen and comply with the Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Program as outlined by Loudoun County's Alcohol and Controlled Substance Testing Policy for Transportation Employees. Pass the TB test within 30 days of hire before beginning work and each year after that. An annual submission of a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation is mandatory and must include any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. First Aid/CPR/AED certifications are required immediately upon hire, as well as OSHA (Bloodborne pathogens) training requirements.
