SUMMARY: The Quality Control Specialist I is responsible for collecting and processing data into the California SEER*DMS Cancer Registry database, by performing accurate and timely matching, resolution of edit errors, linkage and consolidation of data submitted by reporting facilities and other regional sources; resolving modified records; processing electronic path reports; abstracting data based on records from physician's offices and various other sources; performing tasks related to death clearance, including screening and classification, and updating of case data. The Quality Control Specialist I may also assist with regional and statewide tasks as necessary. This is a high productivity position and the incumbent must be able to maintain productivity goals. This is a reading-intensive position as nearly all aspects of this position are performed on a computer and from reading online source material. The incumbent must be able to work independently. This is a regular full-time position located in Sacramento, CA. This position may allow for remote work and is expected to work during core business hours for the Pacific time zone. Some travel may be required. Employment Type: Full Time. Full salary range for this position: $70,296 to $101,911 per year. The typical hiring range for this position is from $70,296 (minimum) to $86,104 (midpoint), based on 100% FTE. The starting salary is determined based on the candidate's knowledge, skills, experience, as well as budget availability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: * Performs Match Tasks, Resolution of Patient Set Errors (RPSE), Linkage, and Consolidation of cancer reports in SEER*DMS management system. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
