We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, talented people to join Alcon. We are looking for a Grant Specialist who will be located at our US headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Review educational grant requests received via the Alcon online grant portal and makes recommendations to management on support.

  • Review post event documentation and ensures all required documentation is complete and reconciled, including (if applicable) a notification of refund due for unused grant funds and a report of any reportable expenses to Aggregate Spend.

  • Communicate with grant requestors any missing information needed in the grant application, grant decisions, and post event reconciliations.

  • Monitor grant activities.

  • Maintain current knowledge of standards and guidelines applicable to commercial support of educational grants - including but not limited to ACCME, COOE, AdvaMed, PhRMA Code, OIG, FDA, and PPSA as well as all Alcon corporate standards.

  • Use the Upside Contract Management System to create letters of agreements for all grants recommended for funding.

  • Maintain CyberGrants data integrity

  • Forecasting and reconciling budget by therapeutic area.

  • Distributing public communications (e.g., media releases, speeches, newsletters, social media communication, etc.)

  • Organizing and acting as company spokesperson at promotional events (e.g., press conferences, open days, exhibitions, tours and visits, etc.)

  • Preparing executives for media/analyst interviews Responding to inquiries (e.g., first contact for inquiries from the public, the press, consumers, government agencies, etc.)

  • In some organizations, may also be accountable for community relations/corporate responsibility which includes: Active involvement in the community by planning and implementing volunteer programs, company/employee giving, grant making, environmental clean-up, etc.

Additional Position Information:

  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Able to feel comfortable in a customer facing role

  • Travel Requirements: 20%-30%, including meeting with medical professionals in the evenings locally and traveling on weekends

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience
