About the Position

Dexis seeks a Business Development Senior Associate to join our dynamic Business Development Support Services (BDSS) team. Primarily serving as a proposal coordinator or manager and as contributing writer as needed, the successful candidate will also help to train and mentor staff throughout the company on topics relevant to business development. The ideal candidate will have a successful track record of supporting new business efforts in international development and/or foreign affairs with US Government clients, particularly USAID, Department of State, and Department of Defense.

This is a hybrid position based in Arlington, VA.


Responsibilities

  • Support Dexis' business development efforts through roles of increasing complexity, including through research, editing, and formatting documents, drafting past performance references, CV, and other proposal annexes, supporting budget development, recruiting, and coordinating proposal teams.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of new business development from capture and bid tracking to proposal development, submission, and follow-up on a portfolio of opportunities.
  • Coordinate proposal development in response to requests for proposals including those for field-based projects and large global opportunities such as IDIQs. This will involve coordination of proposal teams, calendars, and deadlines; strategy development with technical staff; partner identification and negotiations; recruiting; writing; production; and after-action reviews.
  • Contribute as writer for proposal support sections (CVs, past performance references, capability statements, etc.) as needed and appropriate.
  • Track and research emerging opportunities as needed.
  • Develop and contribute to business development systems, tools, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Dexis staff contributing to business development full time or as a part of their responsibilities to build productive relationships across teams and increase Dexis' BD capacity
  • Participate in external events and share notes with other team members.
  • Support the management of consultants for various proposal assignments, including drafting agreements, supporting travel and logistics, reviewing expense reports, and processing payments.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in international development, business, communications, marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in business development and other relevant fields.
  • Strong writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely and to write for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with key internal and external contacts, including senior management.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure with diverse teams and manage production schedules.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word (advanced document formatting).
  • Willingness to travel and work abroad a minimum of four weeks per year.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French or Portuguese.
  • Experience working on projects or proposals for clients in the governance, stabilization, and conflict and violence prevention sectors.
  • Experience working with U.S. government agencies beyond USAID.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, GovTribe, and/or other BD-relevant tools and platforms.

Below is the pay range aligned with this position. When developing a range, Dexis evaluates compensation holistically, triangulating between external market research, our budget for the position, and internal equity to arrive at a figure that is fair and competitive. Offers within this range will be based on an individual candidate's qualification, relevant education and experience, skills, performance, and organizational needs.

Dexis pay range for this role:
$62,000 $68,000 USD
