Job Summary Looking for talented faculty who want to create an impactful learning experience for our students! GCC is interested in those who embrace our mission to serve and have a passion to guide our students into a future of change and innovation. The automotive program is taught in a state-of-the-art facility teaching industry sponsored programs for Ford and GM as well as general programs serving the entire automotive industry. This position will instruct, oversee, advise, and evaluate students from diverse college and high school populations in automotive classroom and lab settings that include, but not limited to, courses in automotive maintenance, engine repair, suspension & steering, manual drive train & axles, electrical/electronics, HVAC, automatic transmission, engine performance and brakes. Research, develop, and implement automotive curricula changes and course schedules. Actively participate in developing, updating and implementing procedures for sharing learning resources. Work with local and statewide repair shops and dealerships, and local high schools for recruitment and internships. Essential Functions
Minimum Qualifications A. Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught; OR B. Three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught and a Bachelor's degree of higher; OR C. A Master's degree or higher in the teaching field; OR A Master's degree of higher in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field; OR D. A Master's degree of higher in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field. **Per our ASE Foundation school certification, all faculty must have the appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications** Desired Qualifications A. ASE Master Certification with advanced level 1 in Engine Performance (L1) and (G1) Maintenance and Light Repair (MLR) (to be listed on resume or cover letter) B. Recent automotive teaching and curriculum experience at the community college or high school level. C. Experience working in educational environments, including non-traditional settings that require professionalism, flexibility, excellent communication and interpersonal skills D. Recent (within the last 4 years) training in the automotive industry. (to be listed on resume or cover letter) E. HLC accredited Associates Degree in Automotive or related areas; Industrial Management, Engineering, Welding, Diesel Technology, Aircraft Maintenance. Special Working Conditions
