Central Territory Headquarters LI

This position will be located at our College for Officer Training (CFOT) near Wrigley Field on the North Side of Chicago. CFOT operates as a unique educational program for The Salvation Army that trains our ordained pastors or "officers" for service in our community. Compensation Range: $19.63 to $21.81, based on experience.

Job Objective:

Maintain assigned buildings associated with the College for Officers Training through general cleaning and upkeep.

Essential Functions:



  • Perform general cleaning throughout the CFOT campus, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, emptying trash, washing windows, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Maintain and clean classrooms.
  • Keep janitor closets clean and organized.
  • Clean apartments after events and rentals.
  • Perform detailed cleaning of assigned spaces.
  • Wash and dry soiled linens and clothing using CFOT laundry equipment.
  • Keep laundry equipment and the laundry room area organized.
  • Report all maintenance-related issues to the Property Director.
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

The position requires a minimum of 1 year of experience in facility maintenance

OR: Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Skills and Abilities:



  • Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership and field personnel.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently with great attention to detail.
  • Basic computer knowledge

  • Must be able to lift up to and including 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to bend, squat, climb stairs and ladders, reach above shoulder level, crouch, push and pull
  • Have vision acuity.
