nLIGHT is seeking a
Quality Inspector to join our quality team located in Camas, Washington. This role will perform sample inspection and measurement of incoming parts and paperwork to satisfy production requirements. This role supports first article inspection of new parts and/or parts from new suppliers. This position will record inspection results and initiate disposition of non-conforming parts.
Functions
- Daily routine is to inspect parts and material, according to the drawing specification and inspection requirement.
- Ensure the Supplier documents and labels meet with the Purchase Order and Quality Assurance Provisions, and the call out of the Industrial Standards.
- Ensure the inspection sampling process and inspection records are complete and compliant to the procedures.
- Create NCM when nonconformance is identified. Perform containment action and provide inspection support per MRB requests.
- Ensure inventory and transactions are accurate all the time. Be able to do the cycle counting
- Initiate the inspection process for new parts or materials , based on the engineering requirements. Familiar with the inspection tools and their limitation, ensuring the measurement accuracy by choosing the right tools and inspection methods
Qualifications
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred
- Experience with Inspection/measurement of precision mechanical and optical components/assemblies, and printed circuit board assemblies using microscopes, micrometers, calipers, go/no-go gauges, optical comparators, Coordinate Measuring Machines, etc. required
- ERP system transactions knowledge required.
- Inspection of components for laser diode assemblies and fiber optics preferred
- ISO 9001 experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering Drawings/Blueprint.
- Understanding of basic quality terms, definitions and concepts
- Ability to use inspection equipment including CMM and identify/recognize measurement errors and initiate corrective actions, is preferred
- Proficient in the use of MS Office programs such as Excel, Access, etc.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- 20%~40% of time to work at Vancouver or Hillsboro sites

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
- Pay depends on qualifications
- Quality Inspector I - $19.00 to $23.00/hr
- Quality Inspector II - $21.00 to $25.00/hr
- Target Cash Bonus with potential payout of up to 2% of your wages
- 80 hours of paid Vacation per year, plus paid Sick Leave and 10 paid Holidays
- Vacation increases 8 hours annually, up to a maximum of 120 hours per year
