Communications Specialist

Description: Seeking a Communications Specialist to support the public relations department of a petrochemical manufacturing company in Southeast Texas.

• 
  

  Generate editorial copy for the company website and social media channels.

  
  
• 
  

  Have a basic understanding of the petrochemical / energy industry and interview subject matter experts with the ability to turn complex information into understandable copy for the lay person. Attend photo shoots and video shoots on behalf of the company and work well with creative vendors on executing the company's communication goals.

  
  

• 
  

  Must have superb writing skills, utilizing corporate journalism to translate complex technical concepts into clear, succinct, and compelling content.

  
  
• 
  

  Proficient with Microsoft Office and the Microsoft operating systems, specifically in using Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.

  Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.

  
  
• 
  

  Hybrid schedule working onsite for a minimum of 20 hours per week. Must be dependable.

  
  
• 
  

  Degree in communications and 3 years' experience or equivalent as a journalist, corporate/business communicator, or in a public relations agency role.
