Job Overview: Linde is seeing qualified applicants for out Pipeline Technician role. The successful candidate will be based out of the Pipeline Operations office in La Porte, Texas. This position will repair and maintain pipelines and equipment associated with the operation of Linde gas pipelines along the Texas Gulf Coast area. The candidate will use preventive and predictive maintenance practices to champion continuous improvements to Linde Pipeline system. Primary Duties Include:
- Inspect, operate, and maintain gas transmission pipelines, as well as associated equipment in a reliable / efficient manner in accordance with company guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Install pipeline coatings and wrap application to aboveground pipelines.
- Complete and process work orders.
- Assist with pipeline right of ways (ROW) maintenance activities; includes but not limited to signage, mowing, weed control and other required task.
- Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
- Assist Pipeline Technicians with commissioning and decommissioning of pipelines.
Other Responsibilities Include:
- Conduct Damage Prevention activities including pipeline patrols, one-calls, locating and marking of pipelines, inspecting line crossings, excavations, and other activities affecting the pipeline system.
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements, perform required tasks, and complete associated documentation (PHMSA/TXRRC).
- Project support, audit support, and interfacing with customers, plant personnel, and third - parties.
- 10-25% travel per month or as required, helping support efforts in other remote areas.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to move about on foot and follow safety and emergency response procedures.
- Requires ability to work outdoors in extreme weather and near equipment with potentially high noise levels.
- Must be able to work around different surface conditions.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- The ability to work safely and efficiently while at times working independently.
- High School Degree or equivalent
- 3+ years of related experience
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
- Valve maintenance experience a plus.
- Experience as a pipe fitter, welder, etc. a plus.
- Service Truck will be provided, current valid Driver's License required.
