Job Description

Position Summary:

The analyst is an individual contributor who also works in a team environment on multiple activities affecting Classification for Global Trade (CGT), reporting to the Team Lead. The Specialist will determine accurate classification of Harmonized Tariff Codes (HTS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) and Country of Origin (COO) for standard and Engineered to Order (ETO) products while creating backup in the system. You will also support country of origin solicitation and global Free Trade Agreements (FTA) by reviewing and determining eligibility. The Specialist will handle daily transactional tasks, respond to classification requests and participate in department projects as assigned.

Your Responsibilities:

  • General knowledge of the following regulations and rules:
  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule determination on a global level following WCO rules and regulations.
  • U.S. Export Administration Regulations and the Commerce Control List and working knowledge of foreign export control laws
  • Global Country of Origin rules
  • Working knowledge of global Free Trade Agreements and how to determine eligibility.
  • Determine global HTS codes, US ECCN and COO for all products
  • Read and interpret Bills of Material, engineering drawings and other technical data.
  • Create adequate backup documentation for product classifications per department procedures.
  • Create daily classification documentation for customers and suppliers.
  • Country of origin solicitation from vendors.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound shipments for missing classification data.
  • Release orders on hold in the systems
  • Navigate SAP/IFS systems to troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise in daily transactions
  • Respond to classification inquiries from outside of the department
  • Work on projects as assigned
  • Work towards being a subject matter expert
  • Provide guidance to Rockwell Automation departments and subsidiaries on import/export classification related issues
  • Ensure compliance with Rockwell Automation global procedures.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Implement process efficiencies, while promoting consistency across team and focusing on regulatory compliance.
  • Will perform export and import compliance matters while working with employees at multiple organizational levels and will work both independently and with other members of the team.
  • Follow Rockwell cultural and ethical standards.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

Prior Experience required

  • Typically requires 0+ years of experience in classification, import, export and customs for a high-tech company.
  • Licensed Customs Broker helpful.
  • Working knowledge of international business in a global environment.
  • Excellent written/verbal command of English and experience leading projects to completion.
  • SAP/GTS experience.
