Overview
The Vice President, Finance Applications will be responsible for the company's global finance applications architecture, interfaces and associated processes. The Vice President will partner with business leaders, primarily within finance in setting strategic goals and executing on tactical projects to enable the seamless and effective processing of the company's financial transactions. This role requires a strategic leader with a strong background in ERP, finance technology, and process improvement to enable scalability and cost savings. This position is responsible for application development and support through combination of internal and external resources. The successful candidate should have a solid track record of delivering projects, building effective business partnerships, leading business process / IT transformation initiatives, and cost management while ensuring a positive work environment that emphasizes teamwork to achieve common goals. Responsibilities
Develop and implement financial strategies that enhance organizational performance, ensure compliance, and foster operational efficiency across the global finance functions.
- Financial Controls: Establish and maintain robust IT general controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Identify and implement best practices to streamline financial processes, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
- Lead the integration of financial applications and systems to enhance data accuracy, reporting capabilities, and overall operational efficiency.
- Define Enterprise applications strategy and roadmap in alignment with IT cost models that deliver tangible/bottom-line business value and results.
- Engage with business leaders across all functions to influence innovative process improvements and gain efficiency while focusing on minimal impact on business operations - this seems to broad]
- Complete company wide implementation of NetSuite and rollout of enhanced functionality available in NetSuite that is not currently being utilized
- Maintain high degree of reliability and performance of finance applications/systems other custom applications, and integrations between the applications.
- Provide technical leadership and partner with business leaders to set corporate technology strategy and investment.
- Directs and manages Internova application development, support, and project teams, providing project management, delivery, maintenance, and support functions for enterprise applications.
- Effectively coordinate, prioritize, and lead high-priority projects to completion that meet/exceed timelines and objectives.
- Nurture a strong customer service mindset throughout the applications team, fostering thought leadership and multi-functional partnerships.
- Identify emerging technology trends, especially around SaaS and cloud computing, and ensure the company demonstrates them when appropriate to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and drive value.
- Develop, implement, and supervise software development policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, SOX, GDPR, security, legal and regulatory compliance.
- Lead application vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to procure resources and technology solutions to meet the company's strategic objectives.
- Active participant in financial audit and financial statement disclosure certifications
- Set management and employee goals for direct reports. Monitor those goals for successful completion.
- Provide employee coaching and support career growth for team members.
- Capable of managing professional and confidential conversations with internal and external clients in supporting our technological solutions and stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure teams are properly resourced to meet priority alignment and business demand.
- Able to appropriately identify and escalate risks and issues to senior and executive management for direction and resolution.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, or business or equivalent
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 12 years of experience in enterprise business systems, NetSuite ERP, Financials in a globally distributed company
- 12 years of management experience with 5+ years as director of global applications responsibility.
- 12 years in software development, Program and project management, SDLC Agile & Waterfall methodologies
- Successfully led and executed global business transformations in ERP, CRM, & Enterprise IT initiatives
- Experience with NetSuite ERP, NetSuite technology infrastructure, and Suite Cloud framework is required.
- Experience with Full Life Cycle NetSuite one world implementations, R2R, O2C, and P2P tracks. Proficient in designing and architecting solutions, advising best practices, and delivering optimal business solutions benefiting business teams.
- Progressive background in technology, software development, and building complex systems and integrations into third-party applications and systems.
- Experience developing and supporting high-demand applications optimized to run in cloud environments.
- Deep knowledge of system architecture, technical design, and system and software development technology.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work towards meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Creative, logical, independent, strong organizational and project management skills, detail-oriented,
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication across all levels of the organization is paramount to the success of this role.
- Enterprise account and finance system knowledge
- Deep knowledge of cloud-based applications, Integrations, and databases.
- Experience with the Dell Boomi platform is a plus.
- Up to 10% domestic and international travel.
