How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:

The Senior Contract Administrator position will support contract management by focusing on ongoing contract maintenance, training, and support to the Council's project managers and division operations managers. The position provides ongoing support to the Council's Transit Rider Investment Program (TRIP) through contract management for security and outreach services. The position will also handle all amendment drafting, review, and negotiation ensuring compliance. Other responsibilities include tracking and documenting vendor performance, assisting business units with training, vendor name changes, price increase requests, contract terminations, and invoice reviews.


What you would do in this job

  • Develops, implements, and administers multiple contracts for the Council's Transit Rider Investment Program (TRIP).
  • Provides TRIP contracts planning and oversight functions; conducts request for proposals and bid specifications.
  • Administers designated contracts between the Council and its service providers by providing policy/procedural direction, receiving and responding to complaints, and monitoring service provider activities.
  • Formulates goals and objectives for contract performance in support of Metro Transit organization goals and in support of the Council's Safety and Security Action Plan (SSAP).
  • Performs field audits, collects and analyzes data, evaluates findings, and conducts quality assurance functions related to the area of assignment through TRIP's framework.

What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)

Any of the following combinations of completed education (in business, finance or a related field) and experience in project administration, contract management, accounting, finance, transportation planning or a related area:

  • High school diploma/GED with eight (8) years of experience.
  • Associate degree with six (6) years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher with four (4) years of experience.

What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):

  • Experience in auditing contracted performance management processes.
  • Experience working with or alongside community-based or non-profit organizations.
  • Experience in managing public safety or security initiatives.
  • Contract management experience with a government entity or in a large complex private company where regulations were applicable.
  • Experience working and collaborating in a diverse, multicultural, and inclusive environment.
What knowledge, skills and abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:
