Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is hiring a Human Resource Representative (Short-Term).

The Human Resources Representative plays a crucial role in supporting the Vision, Mission and Values of Scottsdale Community College by providing essential HR services that directly contribute to student success. This position supports all areas of HR, including hiring, onboarding, and payroll. As the front-line contact of the HR team, this role fosters a positive and productive educational environment. By recruiting and supporting dedicated faculty and staff, this role helps maintain a motivated, effective team that can provide the best possible experience for our students.

Essential Functions
  • 60% - Support all areas of the Human Resource Department to include onboarding part-time and full-time employees, part-time recruitment and hiring, payroll processing, and data entry. Process confidential documents with a high degree of accuracy. Prepare and monitor documents, including establishing and maintaining personnel records; verify information and forms for accuracy, completion and required approvals.
  • 20% - First point of contact in the Human Resources Department, receive and respond to inquiries, provide customer support for walk-in and scheduled appointments with employees, students, applicants, and general public (via e-mail, phone and in-person); perform first-level problem solving and troubleshooting of issues; refer advanced policy related and technical issues to appropriate resource. General administrative support, monitor, order and maintain supplies, forms, and equipment needed for day-to-day operation of the department; keep office area neat and organized.
  • 20% - Support Human Resource projects such as file audits, and employee engagement initiatives. Create and maintain records, reports, and databases with a high degree of accuracy. Prepare records for storage or destruction.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field and two (2) years of administrative office support or related experience providing a wide variety of secretarial, administrative office support and/or administrative coordination activities.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of customer service or administrative office support.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Experience working in a human resources department
  2. Skilled utilizing software systems such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, Google Calendar
  3. Experience using HRIS systems (such as PeopleSoft/Oracle)
  4. Experience with highly confidential information, recordkeeping and preparing reports for storage or destruction


Special Working Conditions
  • Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.
  • May be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations.
  • May be required to work evenings and weekends.
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas.
