Position Overview - OHIO Residency required

The Workforce Development School Telehealth Technology Consultant is responsible for advising and supporting schools on the selection, installation, and optimization of telehealth technology solutions. This role ensures that technology recommendations align with HIPAA and 42 C.F.R. compliance, are non-proprietary, scalable, and interoperable with other systems to meet each school's telehealth needs effectively. The consultant will work closely with school district IT staff, state agencies, and vendors to assist with equipment recommendations, room selection, and technology testing, ensuring that telehealth services are delivered securely and efficiently. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in IT infrastructure and telehealth implementation, with a preference for experience in educational settings. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with prior grant experience and those residing in Ohio to better align with state-specific regulations.

Essential Duties

Technology Equipment Recommendations:

  • Provide schools with a range of technology solution recommendations, including equipment options such as mobile carts, fixed units, cameras, and other necessary telehealth devices.
  • Ensure all recommendations meet HIPAA and 42 C.F.R. compliance standards, are non-proprietary, and allow for future scalability and interoperability with other systems.
  • Work with school administrators to outline options at various price points, ensuring alignment with the school's budget and specific needs.

Room Selection and Environmental Recommendations:

Assist schools in selecting appropriate rooms for telehealth services, ensuring privacy, security, and compliance with clinical service delivery standards.

  • Recommend any necessary remodeling or environmental modifications to create safe, secure, and compliant telehealth spaces.

Technology Upgrades and Infrastructure Support:

  • Collaborate with the state of Ohio and vendors to recommend technology upgrades, such as redundant lines and last-mile connections, for reliable telehealth access.
  • Provide guidance on room connection installations to enhance telehealth capabilities within the school infrastructure.

Technology Testing and System Validation:

  • Support the school district in testing newly installed telehealth technology to validate performance, functionality, and compliance with security standards.
  • Troubleshoot any technical issues and provide feedback to school IT staff to ensure all systems are working optimally before use.

Training and Resource Development:

  • Develop and deliver training sessions for school staff and healthcare providers on using video technology and telehealth platforms.
  • Create a straightforward "How-To" guide and troubleshooting manual to support school staff and providers in effective technology use.

Collaboration with School IT Staff:

  • Partner closely with existing school IT staff, providing support, knowledge sharing, and collaborative troubleshooting to ensure cohesive telehealth technology integration.

Ongoing Technical Updates and Training:

  • Conduct periodic technical updates and refreshers as needed to maintain optimal telehealth technology performance.
  • Offer regular staff training sessions to keep school personnel up-to-date on system usage, compliance requirements, and troubleshooting best practices.
Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Required: Minimum of 3 years in IT infrastructure roles, with hands-on experience in telehealth implementation.
  • Preferred: Experience implementing telehealth technology solutions in schools and
  • Familiarity with grant-funded project compliance.
  • Ohio residency required to support compliance with state-specific regulations.
  • Proficiency with networking, equipment installation, and troubleshooting telehealth technology.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively train and support school staff and providers.
  • Ability to recommend scalable, interoperable, and non-proprietary technology solutions.
  • Candidates will be required to travel approximately 75% or more throughout the state of OHIO

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint ($77235 - $96544), with the midpoint representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
