Apply Keck School of Medicine Faculty Los Angeles, California The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Pediatrics at USC and the Department of Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine in the Division of Comfort and Palliative Care at CHLA, are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Palliative Care Attending Physician with an academic appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics (Clinician Educator). The Division of Comfort and Palliative Care at Children's Hospital Los Angeles offers a consultative service to patients, their families, and medical staff. Comprising of physicians, nurse practitioners, social workers, psychologists, and administrative support, the team aims to promote healing, provide comfort, alleviate suffering, and create a supportive environment in collaboration with the healthcare community. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about interprofessional palliative care, capable of collaborative work with referring providers, and dedicated to serving underserved populations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, expertise in pain and symptom management, and comfort in providing end-of-life care for patients with complex medical conditions are essential. Responsibilities include providing palliative medicine consultation and ongoing care in hospital and ambulatory settings, as well as communicating with primary medical teams. Additionally, the division hosts an ACGME accredited hospice and palliative medicine fellowship, requiring the physician's participation in interprofessional educational activities with fellowship, residency, and student trainees. Opportunities for research, quality improvement efforts, and leadership cultivation are also available within the Division. The annual base salary range for this position is $198,731-$231,511.
