ABOUT THE POSITION

The Graphic Designer is responsible for creative input and execution for the design and production of internal and external communications, under the general supervision and direction of the AVP, Branding and Design, while keeping the Credit Union principles and needs of members top of mind. This position will provide graphic design support to departments throughout the organization, contribute creative and conceptual input, and will create and execute graphic design solutions for event, print and digital marketing channels. The Graphic Designer assists members and potential members in understanding and utilizing Credit Union principles, products, and services through relevant and effective design.

NORMAL DAY-TO-DAY WORK

  1. Develop effective visual design for various external and internal communications while adhering to brand guidelines. Create print and web ads, promotional assets, event materials, print collateral, digital signage, social media graphics, emails, and other branded deliverables as needed. Use graphic design, photography and additional creative skills to enhance the brand.
  2. Contribute to creative concepts in conjunction with all marketing teams, including the digital experience, design and communication teams, to support marketing plans and organization goals. Understand credit union's values, products and services to create effective promotions through relevant design solutions.
  3. Adhere to asset management systems to keep all electronic and printed files organized and accessible to other team members, as well as preserving a clear archival system. Periodically review materials for necessary improvements and changes, keeping collateral current and on-brand.
  4. Work alongside multiple teams in marketing to create compelling email designs using knowledge of Salesforce Content Builder.
  5. Participate in brainstorms with research and recommendations to offer a variety of creative approaches and conceptual ideas to achieve marketing and organizational goals. Ensure ideas are high quality, relevant, intentional, and cost-effective.
  6. Support on-site visits with members/places for the purpose of capturing photos and/or videos for storytelling and promotional goals. Organize files and manage photographic content archives. Represent the Civic brand in all member interaction and communication.
  7. Maintain an ongoing education in the credit union environment, as well as the design and communications industry. Stay abreast of new technologies and design trends that relate to both.
  8. Take ownership for actions, decisions, and results; openly accept feedback and demonstrate both the willingness and ability to improve.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Here are a few skills you MUST have to be qualified for this position.

  1. Minimum 4-6 years of graphic design experience.
  2. Proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD and Acrobat) along with PC platforms and software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook).
  3. Previous desktop publishing and graphic design experience with demonstrated design and layout skills for print and electronic media, including email design and content management software.
  4. Ability to function in a Consumer business office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: PC, copier, telephone, etc.
  5. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. (file boxes, computer).
  6. Travel required on occasion.

  1. BA/BS degree in Marketing, Visual Arts, Graphic Design or related field.
  2. Professional experience in a financial institution and/or ad agency.
  3. Strong service orientation skills.
