Program Overview: Our Nurse Technician Program is designed to provide nursing students with practical experience under the guidance of registered nurses. This program fosters immersion in Akron Children's culture and aims to inspire participants to pursue RN positions upon graduation. Unit Overview: The Paul and Carol David Foundation Burn Institute is one of the most comprehensive burn care centers in Northeast Ohio. It provides highly specialized care to patients of all ages, including a large adult population. The unit is equipped to treat severe burn injuries and manage critical care patients, with a focus on the unique needs of burn patients. Summary: The Nurse Technician I assists in patient/family education and in the delivery of individual care for a group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities: 1. Assists in delivering individual care for a group of patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse. 2. Assists in patient/family education capabilities and under the direction of a licensed nurse. 3. Contributes to the assessment of individual patient care. 4. Contributes to the delivery of patient care. 5. Participates in the educational efforts of the department and the nursing unit. 6. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age and developmental status. 7.
