Job Summary

Description: Grady's Continuous Improvement department will focus on strategic projects aimed at business operations that will transform the patient, staff and provider work experience. The goal of this department is to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, eliminate wait and waste, and improve the experience of all as it relates to their interactions throughout the care continuum. This is a 6-month internship where the intern will have a variety of internal and external client-facing exposure. The intern is expected to assist with the design of analytical frameworks, conduct observations and interviews, collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data, and provide project findings and recommendations via reports, dashboards, and/or executive level presentations. A written report and presentation for each assigned project will be required at the conclusion of the internship. Critical thinking, emotional intelligence and an interest in hospital business operations is essential.

Education

Description:

Required:

-Currently enrolled as a graduate student at an accredited university or master's prepared

Preferred:

-Graduate study in industrial or health systems engineering, business administration, healthcare administration, public health or comparable

Experience

Required:

-Ability to commit to 20 hours per week on-stie for the duration of the internship

Preferred:

-Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving and analytical reasoning skills

-Strong analytical and organizational skills

-Effective communicator (written, verbal, and presentation)

-Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fluid work environment
