Lead Payroll Administrator(Hybrid - Columbia, SC)

TheLead Payroll Administratorhelps to ensure the Human Capital Management (HCM) system complies with payroll federal and state(s) tax tables and other payroll-regulated topics. This role ensures that the payroll general ledger and all other HR/ICFR controls are performed by the HR control narrative and the Bank's guidance. This position collaborates with the payroll manager, provides training and support, ensures processes are followed, and is a liaison between the HR Technical team for functional business requirements and testing. The Administrator maintains effective positive relationships with the association partners within Farm Credit Benefits Alliance in providing payroll compliance support, guidance, and training.

What you'll do
- Serves as subject matter expert for payroll and ensures system and pay compliance with FLSA and other legislative mandates and tax regulations
- Ensures that the HCM System complies with requirements of any child support, tax levies, and any other federal or stated mandated garnishment
- Responsible for ensuring that Vertex compliance updates are applied within Oracle HCM and as needed with ad hoc Oracle system updates
- Responsible for applying and or updating state unemployment tax rates within the Oracle application
- Ensures that payroll controls, such as salary controls are completed semi-monthly and by HR/ICFR controls
- As payroll lead and in conjunction with payroll manager, ensures that tax issues are identified, analyzed, and resolved
- Liaison to the HR Technical team for functional business requirements and testing
- Responsible for the monthly general ledger reconcilement fo r AgFirst, AgFirst associations, and Texas to ensure that they are performed timely, accurately, and by HR/ICFR controls
- Responsible for analyzing general ledger entries, identifying reconciling items, and ensuring corrective journal entries are executed

What you'll need
- Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting desired
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, and analytical skills
- Excel experience required
- Commitment to HR principles of confidentiality
- Highly adaptable to change and ability to consistently meet deadlines
