Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a highly organized and proactive Special Assistant to support a government aviation program. The Special Assistant will provide high-level administrative and operational support to senior program management and key personnel within the aviation program. This role involves managing complex schedules, coordinating communications, preparing reports, and assisting in various strategic tasks to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the program. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a strong understanding of aviation or government programs.

Examples of duties include but not limited to:

    Provide comprehensive administrative assistance to senior leadership within the aviation program. This includes managing calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and handling correspondence.
  • Assist in coordinating various aspects of the aviation program, including meetings, briefings, travel arrangements, and program milestones. Serve as a liaison between leadership, teams, and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and coordination.
  • Prepare, proofread, and edit documents such as reports, presentations, and proposals. Ensure documents are aligned with program requirements and standards. Manage and organize files, records, and program information.
  • Assist senior leadership with strategic planning and decision-making by gathering relevant data, preparing analysis, and providing recommendations for improving program operations and performance.
  • Manage internal and external communications for the aviation program, including emails, phone calls, and reports. Ensure timely responses to inquiries and requests and provide updates to key stakeholders as needed.
  • Plan and coordinate program-related events, meetings, and travel. This includes booking travel arrangements, accommodations, and organizing logistics for senior personnel attending conferences, events, or operational missions.
  • Assist in tracking program budgets, resources, and expenditures. Help prepare financial reports, track costs, and monitor adherence to budget constraints, providing support to the financial team.
  • Support ongoing projects within the aviation program by tracking progress, following up on action items, and ensuring deadlines are met. Prepare status updates for senior leadership and ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Handle confidential program information and ensure compliance with applicable security regulations. Assist in maintaining the integrity of sensitive data related to aviation operations.


Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar administrative, operational, or support role, preferably in a government or aviation-related environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-security setting (e.g., government, military, or aviation) is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in resource management software, project management tools, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Access, or similar systems).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage and track deadlines and ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-level presentations, reports, and briefings.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is desirable but not required.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
