Summary: The Senior Equipment Mechanic will conduct various repair and maintenance activities for Stumptown HQ and Cold Brew facilities, keeping operations running with minimal disruption or downtime. Reporting to the Facilities and Equipment Manager, this role will be tasked with maintaining process and procedures, equipment and facility preventative maintenance (PM) schedules, efficiency metrics, and vendor networks. They will repair and maintain plumbing, carpentry, mechanical, electrical and electronic components, either through hands-on expertise, or through partnering with third-party service providers as appropriate. Essential Functions:
Execute programs and processes related to equipment maintenance and best practices on preventative maintenance. Achieve goals regarding productivity metrics (downtime, capacity, output, etc) and improvements over time. Provide repairs and improvements to facilities and equipment including, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Partner with Manager and Operations team to enhance Preventive Maintenance systems and procedures on all equipment; execute activities according to the maintenance schedule. Respond promptly to all service requests with a high level of internal customer service. Assist equipment operators to improve line efficiency. Participate in Safety Committee meetings and lean manufacturing activities. Maintain communication and relationship with multiple 3rd party service providers. Install, assemble, and test new and existing production machinery and equipment; understand and comply with workplace safety regulations. Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells, or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery. Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner. Maintain machinery and the adjacent workplace in a state of appropriate cleanliness; create and maintain a schedule for inspection, service, and testing of machinery. Read and comply with work orders concerning service, modification or installation of machinery. Read and interpret equipment manuals. Plan, organize, and maintain equipment and records. Perform all duties in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and food safety guidelines. Perform duties effectively in a diverse teamwork environment.
Qualifications:
At least 7 years of experience in maintaining, repairing, overhauling, and troubleshooting processing, packaging, and material handling equipment in a manufacturing environment. Must have a valid driver's license. Certifications in the above categories are preferred. Strong mechanical and manufacturing experience is preferred. Ability to accurately assess mechanical problems, make recommendations, communicate effectively, and resolve issues quickly while working under pressure. Advanced experience troubleshooting high speed equipment, PLC's, automation, etc. Formal education in a related field - prefer Associates degree in mechanical, electrical or engineering a plus. Computer skills - able to navigate email, MS D365, Google and Microsoft Suites, CMMS programs, etc. Experience with operating and maintaining, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, pneumatic systems. Must have a demonstrated history of safe work habits. Prefer candidates with understanding of OSHA regulations and experience working in SQF and GMP regulated food environments.

Carry weight, lift - frequently moves materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Weight greater than 50 pounds can be mitigated with a lifting partner or device. Stooping and bending the body downward and forward by bending at the waist. Repetitive motion using the hands, wrists and forearms. Standing in place for several hours at a table to operate or repair machinery.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The work environment can be noisy and temperature can fluctuate with the weather. Scheduling flexibility is required with occasional evenings, early mornings and weekends required.
