Summary

The Box Truck Driver will pick up and deliver assigned routes within the local Portland area as well as any urgent deliveries as needed. This role will work closely with Portland roasting, packaging and logistics department as well as building and maintaining relationships at our co-manufacturer locations. This role requires successful completion of a DMV check and a DOT physical.

Essential Functions

  • Pick up and deliver products in a 24' box truck.

  • Load pallets and products on and off the box truck at multiple locations using pallet jacks, forklifts and hand trucks.

  • Maintaining communication and relationships with several departments across Stumptown to notify inbound and outbound movements.

  • Create, maintain and manage vendor relationships.

  • Work with dock personnel to check in products against packing slips.

  • Communicate any delays or incidents with affected parties as well as direct manager.

  • Keep box truck and any related equipment to the job clean and in good working order.

  • Work directly with the fleet manager to ensure that truck PMs and service issues are maintained in a timely manner.

  • Assist in Production or Distribution activities as needed.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of delivery driving preferred

  • Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.

  • Clean DMV record

  • Able to pass a DOT physical exam

  • Working knowledge of material handling methods.

  • Self-starter in a fast paced, non-traditional work environment.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to drive a box truck through Portland traffic while remaining pleasant and professional

  • Ability to lift 50 -150 pounds regularly. Weight greater than 50 pounds will be mitigated with a lifting partner or device.

  • Ability to push/pull manual pallet jacks and hand trucks

Work Environment

  • Work takes place in a 24' box truck around the Portland Metro area and at multiple warehouses and co-packers.

  • Temperatures vary greatly with weather.
