Under limited supervision, is responsible for the operation and maintenance of Gilchrist Clinical Center and Administrative offices so that all systems and equipment operate well, and that the area is attractive and comfortable for patients, families and staff and follows local, state, federal and accrediting agency requirements.
Education Trade school certification/bachelor's degree preferred or 3-4 years of equivalent experience. Experience 3-5 years related work experience in an institutional setting' preferably in healthcare. Competent problem-solver for issues related to maintenance and engineering of plant operations. Is capable of coordinating the planning of assigned department activities. Can directly repair minor electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs, and general maintenance. Willing to paint and participate in overall building maintenance activities. Skills
- Advanced knowledge of building codes and safety regulations in health care or related field.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Assures that the building's systems and equipment run smoothly so that they provide comfort and meet the needs of patients, families, staff and volunteers. Responds to repair and maintenance requests within the requested period of time so that staff and environmental needs do not go unattended.
- Assures that the building is clean, and reports issues to the housekeeping Director as appropriate.
- Schedules and completes daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually, and annual maintenance on building equipment and grounds.
- Ensure projects being managed internally and through vendors are on schedule. Reports progress and setbacks to the Facility Manager.
- Facilitate all maintenance projects on site.
- Provides continues 24/7 support for the operation on a rotating bases as assigned.
- Assists in the implementation of policies and procedures related to Physical plant Purchasing, Inventory Control, Building and Grounds and safety.
- Participates in discussions and planning with management concerning, equipment acquisitions by lease or purchase, and construction or renovation of plant facilities.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls the system which provides the facility with laundry supplies and equipment, insuring high standards at the lowest possible costs. Receives orders, reconciles purchases orders and stocks shelves. Maintains the storeroom so that it is neat and clean. Effectively prepares outgoing orders for all facility supplies.
- Works with Operational and Safety, and Facility Leaders to assure each Gilchrist Location is prepared for any weather-related event. Assures that snow and other debris is promptly removed from sidewalks, ramps, and other walking areas, and arranges for road and parking lot snow removal and sanding as needed in coordination with GBMC.
- Ensure life safety checks are completed and centrally documented daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually, and annually.
- Ensure safety of staff, patients, patients' families, volunteers
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
Licensures, Certifications Stationary Engineer License or ASHE Certified Physical Environment worker certification Preferred Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push or pull equipment, tools and materials. Pay Range $48,906.24 - $75,804.67
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
