Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Planning Specialist to join our government front office aviation program. This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive planning and logistical support to the front office that ensures efficient execution of aviation operations. The Operations Planning Specialist will collaborate with various teams, including operational, technical, and program management staff, to coordinate schedules, allocate resources, and ensure all operations are aligned with mission objectives and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in aviation operations, operational planning, and program coordination in a government or defense setting.

Examples of duties include but not limited to:

    Assist in the development and implementation of detailed operational plans, schedules, and timelines for aviation missions and activities. Ensure that all resources, personnel, and equipment are allocated effectively to meet mission objectives.
  • Coordinate and manage the logistical support required for aviation operations, including transportation, equipment, personnel movement, and resource distribution. Ensure smooth execution of plans and mitigate any logistical challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including operational teams, engineers, contractors, and government agencies, to ensure all aviation operational requirements are met on time and within budget.
  • Maintain and update detailed operational documents, including planning schedules, status reports, and contingency plans. Ensure all documentation is aligned with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Identify potential risks associated with operational plans and propose strategies to mitigate those risks. Assist in the development of contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
  • Support the execution of aviation operations by tracking progress, managing schedules, and ensuring that operations proceed according to the plan. Provide real-time support and troubleshooting during missions as needed.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of operations, including progress, resource utilization, and any issues or delays. Provide timely updates on operational metrics and mission performance.
  • Assist in managing the allocation and tracking of resources (personnel, equipment, materials) to ensure operational plans are executed efficiently. Monitor resource usage and optimize allocation to reduce costs and improve performance.
  • Evaluate current operational planning processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, reduce delays, and enhance mission success. Implement best practices to improve overall program effectiveness.

**This position is contingent upon award of contract**



Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations planning, logistics coordination, or program management, preferably within a government or aviation-related environment.
  • Experience in military or defense aviation programs is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in resource management software, project management tools, and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Access, or similar systems).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other productivity tools.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Asana) is a plus.
  • Experience with government program management systems (e.g., procurement, reporting, or budgeting systems) is a plus.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and a Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
