Starting salary for this position is $19 per hour.

Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm

Summary/Primary Purpose: Supports HR Department's customer-focused philosophy in employee and officer interactions. Responsible for data management of HRIS system (ADP). Maintains employee personnel records, ensures compliance with TSA policies, Federal and State laws, and as requested will support HR members and functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for overseeing the recruitment process, to include tracking of documentation through the HRIS system. Serves as the HRIS system point of contact for new hires and supervisors.
  • Responsible for the recruiting management system within ADP to include job postings, on-boarding, policy acknowledgements and other similar functions.
  • Provide training of the ADP Recruiting Management system to officers and managers.
  • Support the field in areas of recruiting and onboarding.
  • Coordinate the job posting program by posting all open positions as requested and maintaining applicable records in accordance with DHQ recordkeeping requirements.
  • Responsible for the creation, maintenance and filing of all employee personnel records and ensure retention rules per THQ and Federal requirements are met.
  • Maintain and ensure all employment files are in legal compliance with both state and federal employment laws, processed accurately and filed as soon as possible.
  • Conducts background checks on applicants for employment following the Divisional and Territorial Background Check Policies, to include E-Verify.
  • Records new and change data in ADP when appropriate of status or personal changes, as necessary.
  • Serves as the main point of contact for processing of all individuals hires for seasonal purposes.
  • Provides the Division Commander's office with all required data for monthly Staff Meeting as requested.
  • Responsible to ensure that all job descriptions are reviewed and updated in the newest format.
  • Processing of department billing statements, purchasing of office supplies and event goods as needed.
  • Will serve as a backup to the front receptionist position, as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma, with a minimum of 3 years administrative experience. HR related experience is preferred and considered a plus. Experience with ADP Vantage including the Recruitment platform preferred.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.



  • Ability to be flexible, prioritize and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills, and the ability to access data systems via a web-based system.
  • Excellent attention to details and administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Mathematical skills to include add, subtract, multiply, divide, use of common fractions and decimals.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong independent judgement.


Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
