Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations and accounting processes for a subsidiary of our client. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting practices and the ability to drive operational efficiencies while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct timely and accurate close processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Oversee accounting for various revenue streams, including but not limited to product sales, subscription-based models, direct-to-consumer channels, and marketplace revenue.
  • Ensure proper application of ASC 606 for revenue recognition and track deferred revenue and unearned income to properly report.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the subsidiary in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Work with the consolidations team to ensure timely and complete reporting to be represented within the parent company financials.
  • Supervise inventory accounting, including cycle counts.
  • Coordinate with other departments and the parent company to ensure the accuracy of intercompany balances.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, including accountants and analysts.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to drive business decisions.

Qualifications:
  • Active CPA license
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within CPG, E-commerce, or a similar industry.
    • Multiple years of direct management experience.
    • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, and subscription-based accounting practices is desired.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Great Plains) and advanced Excel skills.
      • Knowledge of SQL and PowerPivots or use of advanced analytical tools (e.g., PowerBI, Hyperion) is a plus.
