Position Summary

The Application Data Analyst position performs data analyses and interprets results using a variety of techniques to support Quality Assurance departments and performance improvement initiatives. This position is responsible for identifying data analytics needs under the guidance of the leadership team through creating and developing reports and developing dashboards for tracking performance. This position uses a variety of data sources and analysis techniques to support planning, reporting and decision making. The position applies knowledge of business and applications to trend overall service line data outcomes, investigates overall system issues, and provides necessary information and resolution. Key functions also include meeting preparation, data entry, data abstraction, producing reports and presentations on quality metrics, and conducting drill down analysis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

1. Produces reports, dashboards, and presentations on quality metrics and conducts drill down analysis to proactively identify specific variances in practice patterns.
2. Works collaboratively with report requestors, providing guidance to define requirements and validate results.
3. Demonstrates advanced computer literacy skills with programs such as Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, Tableau, Vizient, and Epic.
4. Aligns all performance improvement initiatives to the strategic plan.
5. Determine the organizational and medical staff needs for technical support. Develop training and education material (as the subject matter expert) to present to physicians, management, and senior leadership.
6. Participates with medical staff leadership and physicians/clinicians to identify and facilitate implementation of best practices and enhancements to processes or standards to support mitigation of risk and improve quality.
7. Supports the patient safety and regulatory requirements.
8. Demonstrates competency in data entry, collection, abstraction, aggregation, and analysis.
9. Demonstrates ability to track, manage, organize, and prioritize projects.
10. Ability to exercise discretion judgement in the handling of confidential and /or sensitive information
11. Ability to be at work and be on time. Ability to rearrange work schedule to accommodate meetings/committee needs.

*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities. Minimum Requirements

Qualifications/Work Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of experience in healthcare settings using electronic software systems preferred or cumulative relevant experience
• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Experience in using Tableau Software and interactive dashboard design required
• Previous experience working with databases, large data sets, multiple data sources and interpreting complex data to create meaningful information
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills
• Excellent critical thinking skills, and strong verbal and writing skills
• Exceptional time management skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
• Project management skills
• Ability to prioritize, organize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Education/Licensure/Certification:

• Bachelor's degree in a health-related field, business, finance, statistics, mathematics, data science, economics or marketing required
• Familiarity with medical terminology
