Job Title: Parts Master

Location: Pascagoula, MS, US

Position Level: Non-Executive

GENERAL FUNCTION:
A Parts Master maintains and directs the movement of material in multiple inventories and manages the creation of parts in the Company database.

MINIMUM SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of material used in the construction/repair of vessels.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE (YEARS):

  • Two (2) years experience dealing with warehouse activities, shipyard parts knowledge, or employee supervision preferred.
  • Appropriate education may be substituted.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Research part information prior to issuing part numbers.
  • Establish uniform standardized part description attributes and ensure adherence to the standardization.
  • Create parts in the inventory part module of the MRP system.
  • Create and maintain purchase part records in the MRP system.
  • Create supplier purchase part catalog records in the MRP system.
  • Manage and maintain purchase part and supplier purchase part catalog in the MRP system, including primary supplier, current part price, lead-time, buy UOM, and conversion factors. Data mining.
  • Make contacts to sell or return excess material for scrap value or full/partial credit with support from warehousing/material control.
  • Perform project reconciliation as projects complete to clean the system of all excess project inventory.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with the resolution of any discrepancies.
  • Knowledgeable of all different functions and responsibilities of Procurement to act as backup (Purchasing Clerk and Expeditor).
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures, including those relative to employee safety, environmental policy, and the principles of our quality system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested by Management.
  • Work overtime as required.
  • Report to work daily and on time.
