Summary

Goldman Sachs Asset Management's Shareholder Services Oversight team manages various control-oriented activities within Global Shareholder Services. The team focuses on continually enhancing the control environment and applying consistent, scalable methodology across the various businesses in Shareholder Services. Examples of control activities include, internal and external audits, supervisory controls, and incident management. Shareholder Services Oversight partners with Strategic Client Services, Sales, Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance and other Federation areas, as well as key business partners including external auditors, key vendors, and financial intermediaries.

The position requires participation in facilitating initiatives related to these control-oriented activities. Previous experience in a control-oriented role and/or knowledge of financial products including mutual funds and alternative investments are required. Other critical qualifications include attention to detail, desire to continually learn and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities of Shareholder Services Oversight include the following:



  1. Collaborate with Risk Management team to complete risk review and analysis, and uplift new requirements
  2. Facilitate review of Asset Management Public- Operations Policies and Procedures
  3. Analyze key control indicators
  4. Perform or assist in periodic audits and risk based reviews to evaluate effectiveness of internal controls
  5. Communicate status and results of initiatives to management in clear and concise written and verbal manner
  6. Coordinate best practices with offshore offices (London, Japan)
  7. Management reporting of controls, exceptions, and issues
  8. Develop and implement monitoring activities for high risk processes
  9. Perform various tasks related to regulatory filings
  10. Drive initiatives by identifying key stakeholders and building consensus within group to achieve strategic solutions.


Basic Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail; strong Control/Risk mindset
  • Ability to work and adapt in a fast paced and dynamic environment, highly motivated
  • Strong organizational, business writing, interpersonal and time management skills


Preferred Qualifications



  • Audit/Control experience, preferably in public accounting or internal audit in the financial services industry.
  • Understanding of the trading business and / or mutual funds business
  • General understanding of Alternative Investment vehicles

Salary Range

The expected base salary for this Chicago, Illinois, United States-based position is $65000-$120000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
