The HVAC industry offers promising job growth, especially for those seeking to become a Massachusetts Licensed Refrigeration Mechanic. As an HVAC Plant Operatorat MGM Springfield, you will have the critical responsibility of conducting predictive maintenance and reactive repairs, which includes installing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems within the building. This role not only provides hands-on experience but also opens doors for further professional development and specialization within the HVAC field.

STARTING RATE: $35.45 per hour

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Perform routine to complex maintenance and repair work on all mechanical and electrical systems throughoutthe property with focus on boilers, chillers, pumps, and control systems in the Central Utility Plant.
• Responsible for completion of all jobs assigned by Dispatch or Management and maintain logbooks
• Operate power and hand tools to complete job assignments
• Read and understand blueprints and wiring schematics to install and work on electrical components
• Understand the layout of the property, hotel rooms, and equipment
• Keep informed and updated on current techniques and technical methods and advise Shift Supervisor of any unusual conditionswithin the property
• Maintain a constant awareness of property cleanliness, safety, and accident prevention; able to wear/use personal protectiveequipment
• Attend daily shift briefing meetings, meet and manage outside contractors when needed.

Schedule: 4 day, 10-hour shifts

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Self-motivated employee wiling to accomplish goals with minimum supervision
• Operate equipment used in maintenance of facilities such as forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, fire pumps, generators, and HVAC Equipment.
• Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, and Excel
• Two years of hands-on experience in commercial HVAC field.
• Familiar with safety and OSHA requirements
