Camp Health Officer

This is a Temporary Position that will run from May 28, 2025 to July 25, 2025.

The working days for this position will be Monday-Friday and some weekends.

Pay is $140 per day (based on experience)

Summary: Provide health services to all campers and staff during the Summer camping season.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other similar and related duties may be assigned.



  • Check medical information as entered onto Camp Management Software.
  • Dispense medication.
  • Refill first aid kits weekly.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly health clinic.
  • Maintain required paperwork in an orderly fashion.
  • Provide first aid. Operate camp vehicle, if needed, to reach campers in need of first aid or transport campers to medical facilities.
  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the position.


Supervisory Responsibilities: This position may have some supervisory responsibilities.

  • They will assist in creating a Christian atmosphere and support the infusion of Christian Outreach through the programming.
  • Preferred 6 months related experience in a personal relationship with Christ and working with youth.
  • This individual must be of good character, mature and able to uphold the Christian standards and ministries of The Salvation Army in all areas of job responsibilities.


Education and/or Experience: Related schooling commensurate with certification requirements.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel or similar software.

Certifications, License, Registrations:

Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) required. Registered Emergency Management Technician (EMT), Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) may be given preference.

Other Qualifications:

Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
