Database Engineering, Senior Advisor

Designs, develops, and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity. Collaborates with analytical tools to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization. Define data requirements to support insights through analytics and dashboards. Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it. Manipulates data and data flows for existing and new systems performing ETL, analytical support, and maintenance of critical data. Provides support in the areas of data extraction, transformation, and load (ETL), data mapping, analytical support, operational support, database support, and maintenance support of data and associated systems. Research, design, develop, or modify enterprise-wide systems or application software-research emerging technologies to determine their impact on application execution. Troubleshoot complex problems and provide support for the ETL process. Prepare reports on analyses, findings, and project progress.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA, Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA, Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
• Active Secret clearance
• In-depth experience conducting data analysis and parsing
• Maintains an ability to conduct research and tests of considerable complexity
• Possesses extensive experience in developing complex data flows or making significant enhancements to existing pipelines
• Experience with the following languages: Java/J2EE, C, C++, SQL, XML, XQuery, XPath, Ruby on Rails, HTML/XHTML, CSS, Python, Shell Scripting, JSON
• Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to comprehend database methodologies
• Possesses excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing, communications; has strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving, including briefing, and team-building skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data visualization methods and design principles
• Strong understanding and familiarity with Cloud technologies, resources, and tools
