Job Overview





The Food Runner's primary responsibility is to maintain a clean and inviting dining room and clean and stocked work station. The Food Runner is also required to provide caring hospitality to our customers and to ensure the buffet is fresh and bountiful.





Essential Functions






  • Follows Food Division Standards and Best Practices
  • Must clean and maintain buffet displays
  • Must change all utensils, as frequently as needed
  • Must maintain the buffet area, keeping it clean and stocked
  • Must return all cleaned utensils to the buffet area
  • Must communicate efficiently about low product on the buffet
  • Knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  • Comfortable with customer interaction
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ensure dining room is properly set for customer service
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks as assigned
  • Effectively deal with multiple customers
  • Communicate customer requests/concerns and service flow issues to colleagues and manager on duty
  • Follow food safety standards and maintain work area and equipment in accordance with Health Department standards
  • Assist servers and expeditors and run food to customers when needed
  • Follow station specific duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress code to comply with Food Division and Health Department standards
  • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality
  • Must have current Food Safety certification

Competencies






  • Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals


  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays





Physical Requirements






  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing/walking around store or department
  • May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling and stooping
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
