Position Summary
Bring our games to life by leading a team to create eye-catching art for slot machines. Work with a group of exceptionally talented artists and animators creating game art that complements and enhances the slot player's experience. The ability to work quickly and efficiently as part of a team, take direction, and maintain a positive attitude under pressure is crucial. Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for mentorship, evaluations, conflict resolution and recognition of the staff to maintain highly motivated and engaged employees. Review the art in development and provide feedback to ensure quality at all levels. Create procedures for art development and set polices for the art leads to follow to ensure timely delivery. Actively contribute to the ongoing game design/development process. Assist in the development of concept materials and production designs as required. Maintain art process documentation to ensure that it remains up-to-date. Set the art production standards, processes, and techniques. Develop and maintain knowledge of the development tools and processes, target platforms, and competitive products. Assists with proposed visual direction during pre-production phase of development with the use of concept art and story boards. Accountable for the setting and team's achievement of annual objectives across a large function or functional areas. Demonstrates appropriate usage of color, lighting, animation, composition, perspective, and mood through look, expression and emotion on people, places and things. Develops work product through fluent use of 2D and 3D graphics packages. Help cultivate a positive and collaborative studio culture supporting studio and company wide initiatives. Act as the primary liaison between the art and game design teams to ensure smooth collaboration and alignment. Work closely with game designers and game producers to assess game feature presentation feasibility with timelines, offering recommendations to enhance game visuals and player experience. Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to define game specific attributes and requirements as they relate to game presentation. Coordinate with senior art leaders across other development centers to align on art standards and best practices.
Qualifications
Training and/or Experience:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experience creating unique emotive characters and immersive worlds. Experience with logo and interface design. Have a sense of graphic illustration, color, and composition. Drawing skills, ability to visualize and design from abstract ideas. Understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition depth of field, proportion, spatial awareness, etc. Ability to work with a variety of different illustration styles. Ability to work well with others in a team environment Ability to give and receive art direction and provide multiple design solutions. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of lighting, perspective, material finishes and special effects. 3D modeling software experience is a plus. Familiarity with Unity a plus. Help hire and manage individual contributors.
