Overview

ANNUAL SALARY (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): Hourly Rate $24.64

SCOPE: Perform routine medical lab tests for the diagnosis and treatment of patients as directed by the clinicians and lab director.

STATUS: Temporary


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Specimen collection and venipuncture.
  • Perform Injections.
  • Maintain daily/weekly/monthly logs and documents.
  • Run daily QC and perform routine maintenance on hematology analyzer for MD or CLS review and approve patient processing.
  • Accept results automatically recorded by the hematology analyzer in LIS for MD review.
  • Perform Quarterly proficiency testing.
  • Perform Waived lab tests.
  • Specimen Handling, processing, and send out to reference labs.
  • Assist bone marrow biopsy, prepare specimen for transport
  • Maintain orders and supplies
  • Maintain lab facility
  • Admin duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School or GED required
  • Completion of Clinical Medical Assistant program with Phlebotomy required
  • Medical Assistant (AAMA / CMA) CA/National required
  • CA Phlebotomy License preferred
